Window Tinting Questions

Any time you are spending money on car or home improvements, it’s important to ask the right questions before beginning the project and shelling out the dough!  Solar Solutions wants to help you by answering 7 questions that you should ask prior to getting your windows tinted!

#1  How Much Will It Cost?

We chose to answer this question first because it is probably the first question on your mind.  There is no set answer to that question.  The cost will vary because the products chosen and the size of the project will affect the price.  While all of our products are high quality, we offer more than one product, so there are different price points available to meet different budgets.  With homes, the number of windows, size of the windows, and shape of the windows may affect the cost.  We can tell you that our prices are reasonable and our service is excellent.  Additionally, we offer free estimates!

#2  What Brand of Products Do You Use?

We know that the quality of the product makes a difference.  A lower quality product will yield lower quality results.  Low quality is unacceptable at Solar Solutions.  Therefore, we use Panorama and Solar Gard.  Panorama is a product of Solar Gard, but only dealers/installers who have been certified by Panorama can carry and install this product.  It is an elite window tint product, and we are proud to be certified by Panorama!  Panorama and Solar Gard are both outstanding products that yield beautiful results!

#3  How Long Does the Window Tinting Last?

How long the window tint lasts is dependent upon a couple of variables.  The quality of tint you choose definitely makes a difference.  There are some products on the market that will last five to ten years while others will last the life of your car. Another factor is how well you care for your tinted windows.  For example, a garage-kept car will fare better on all counts (paint, etc.) than a car that is kept out in the Florida sun.

#4  Is There a Warranty?

Yes, our window tints at Solar Solutions come with a warranty.  Your Solar Gard or Panorama window tint must be installed by a professional.  You should take the time to read through the warranty so that you don’t do anything to nullify it, although it is not designed to trick you.  Some of the Solar Gard products offer Limited Lifetime Warranties!  Panorama’s residential window tint is warrantied for as long as the purchaser owns the home!  You will not receive this kind of warranty with cheap, low-quality window tints!

#5  How Long Does It Take To Tint My Windows?

For vehicles, your window tinting will be done in one day!  There is no need for a rental car or any such inconvenience.  Your windows will be completed the day of your appointment, and you can show off your car’s updated look at work the following day!

For homes, we are able to complete most homes in a day.  We are meticulous about leaving your home spotless.  It will seem like we were never there – like window tinting fairies who came and left without a trace!

#6  What Are the Florida Laws Regarding Window Tinting?

A professional window tinting company should never tint your windows darker than the state law allows.  The Florida law for sedans and SUVs & vans varies a bit.  It states that for sedans, the front side windows must allow more than 28% of light in.  The back side windows and the rear window must allow more than 15% of light in.  For SUVs and vans, the back side windows and rear window only have to allow more than 6% of light in.

#7  What Are the Benefits of Having My Windows Tinted?

Window tinting offers a myriad of benefits.  For your car, it protects your upholstery and dashboard from fading and cracking.  For your home, it protects your furnishings and flooring from fading.  For both your car and home, it provides temperature regulation.  This will help to lower your home’s utility bill by up to 30%!
