We would like to share a quick story about one such house that had a front (“formal”) living room that had two nice-sized windows facing onto the front yard. The room was paneled in dark, fake wood paneling. Needless to say, the owners immediately went about removing the dark paneling to lighten up the room. Additionally, the owners took on the task of removing the bubbled window film from the windows.They used wide Exacto knives and spent hours, lifting and peeling the cheap, ugly window tint to bring light into the room. This was no small task.

This home was in a northern state which had the extremes of freezing temperatures in the winter and well over 100 degrees in the summer. That window tint graciously regulated the temperature in their daughter’s room. And, even though it was on the second story, they liked the idea that nobody from the outside could see into her room. It gave them an additional feeling of security.
