Residential Window Tinting Benefits

Here in Florida we enjoy great natural light the majority of the year. While the sun shining in enhances our home environment, it’s also possible to have too much of a good thing. With natural sunlight comes unwanted heat and hotspots, which affect your overall comfort and make for a less inviting atmosphere. Solar Solutions high quality XPEL films can reject up to 79% of solar energy – providing you greater temperature stability while reducing solar heat gain and bothersome glare.

Many of Solar Solutions window films are optically clear, meaning they are virtually undetectable inside or out. You also have the option to choose a tint or reflectivity that increases your privacy and enhances the look of your home. Maintenance is worry-free. Simply clean windows as you normally would.

Protection from Sun Damage

Even inside the house, your family and valuables are exposed to sun damage. Ultraviolet light and solar heat coming through windows can cause fading and irreparable destruction to the possessions you value most. Everything from your expensive artwork and furnishings, to hardwood floors, carpets and custom draperies are at risk – and even more important, so is your skin. Home window tinting can help by filtering visible light, rejecting solar heat and blocking over 99% of harmful UV light – significantly reducing your potential for harm and protecting what you treasure most.

Energy Efficiency

Responsible and thoughtful homeowners are interested in helping our environment and preserving precious resources. Reducing the daily use of your air conditioner can make a big difference. Tinting your home windows helps by rejecting heat and keeping interior temperatures more controllable and stable. The end result is you consume less energy, reduce your carbon footprint and save on utility expenses.

Residential Window Film FAQs

Solar Solutions installs residential window film for homes in Vero Beach, Sebastian, Indian River Shores, Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie and Melbourne, and throughout Indian River, St. Lucie and Brevard counties, Florida.

Does window film help protect my home during a hurricane?

Safety and security films hold broken glass together if a window breaks, which cuts down on flying shards and helps slow entry through the opening. Window film is not a replacement for impact-rated windows or hurricane shutters, and it does not make standard glass meet Florida building code wind-load requirements. We can talk through which film makes sense alongside your storm protection.

How much heat can home window film block?

It depends on the film you choose. Our residential films can reject up to 79% of the sun’s energy, which helps keep rooms cooler, evens out hot spots and lowers the load on your air conditioning in the Florida heat.

Will window film make my home darker?

Not necessarily. Many of our films are optically clear and nearly invisible from inside or out, while still blocking heat and UV. If you want more privacy or a different look, we also offer tinted and reflective options.

Does window film stop furniture and floors from fading?

Quality window films block up to 99% of ultraviolet light, the biggest single cause of fading in furniture, flooring, artwork and window treatments. No film can stop fading completely, but it slows it down significantly.

Can I install window film in a condo or HOA community?

Usually, yes. Many condo associations and HOAs have rules on how windows look from the outside, so check your association documents first. We can help you choose a film that meets their requirements.

How do I clean windows after film is installed?

Clean them as you normally would with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. We’ll give you care instructions at installation, including how long to wait before the first cleaning.
