Things Aren’t Always As They Seem

It is true that appearances can be deceiving, and things aren’t always as they seem.  This is true in every area of life from the small, mundane things to the larger issues of life.  For a little perspective, let’s think about how things seem when we peer out an airplane window.  Plots of farmland look like a beautiful, huge patchwork quilt stretching as far as your eyes can see.  There are varying shades of green and brown and varying sizes to the different “patches.”  But, when we are down on the ground standing in the middle of a field, we have a completely different viewpoint and perspective.  We can’t see that the land we’re standing on is a giant rectangle.  We can’t see that it is part of a large “patchwork quilt” stretching for miles.  We have a different perspective.

In our everyday lives, we can’t always see how things all work together to make a giant patchwork quilt either.  For instance, the “pay it forward” movement has this effect.  You are waiting in the drive-thru at Starbucks.  As you pull up to the window, you are told by the cashier that the car in front of you has paid for your drink!  What a great surprise.  You may choose to do the same for the car behind you and on it goes.  Maybe you are paying more than you would have or maybe less.  But, you have all done something kind for someone else.  It may have very well changed the course of their day.  And, it may encourage one or more of you to think of others just a little more that day than you would have otherwise.

In a bigger picture, we often look at the lives of others and assume things about them.  We see the child in the store throwing a screaming fit.  How quick are we to judge the child as a brat or the parent as having poor parenting skills?  Does it cross our mind that maybe that child is on the Autism Spectrum or that mom is a foster parent and the child’s issues came along with him and have nothing to do with her?  What about the elderly neighbor next door who is grumpy to everyone?  Are we rude and grumpy in return?  Is it possible that he’s just lonely and sad?  Or, perhaps, he’s in the beginning stages of dementia and his true personality that was once kind and friendly is disappearing due to that wretched disease?

We all need to pause the next time we make an assumption.  We hope this encourages you to perform an unexpected kind act for someone today.  Who doesn’t need to be treated kindly or given the benefit of the doubt once in a while?  We all do!  Perspective can be a beautiful thing.

At Solar Solutions, we offer window tinting for cars, homes, and commercial buildings, and we hope to change your perspective on window tinting too!  It is often assumed that all window tinting is dark and changes the look of your car, home, or workplace.  This isn’t true!  We offer window tint in a variety of shades, including clear.  Our clear tint still provides the UV protection that you need without changing the appearance of your car, home, or building.  Sometimes, we all need a new perspective!  If you live in the Vero Beach, Sebastian, Melbourne, or Viera areas and realize that maybe you are interested in window tint, clear or otherwise, then please give us a call today.  We look forward to doing business with you!
