3 Common Window Tinting Questions

window tinting

Having been in the business for over 20 years, Solar Solutions, superior window tinting in Vero Beach, has certain questions asked of us time and time again.  We realized that because these are common questions that many of our customers have, it might be helpful to answer them here in our blog.  So, here we go!

1. Does the Window Tint Go on the Inside or Outside of the Windows?

That is a good question.  Window tint is installed on the inside of the window.  If it were on the outside, it might be more prone to damage, such as scratches from objects in the air, especially on the highway.  We have all seen rocks kicked up by big rigs or random items flying out of the back of trucks.  Your window tint is safe from such damage.

2. What Should I Use to Clean My Tinted Windows?

We always recommend that our customers use a non-ammonia window cleaner for their tinted windows.  According to Rayno Window Film, products containing ammonia can cause discoloration and damage to window tinting.  You should not use any harsh cleaners or scrub on tinted windows.  You can simply wash them with a mild cleanser such as water with a drop of mild dish soap or even just water using a soft, microfiber cloth.

3. How Long Does It Take the New Tint to Dry?

We realize that you want your vehicle back as quickly as possible.  We want to give it back to you in a timely manner, so that you are completely satisfied with your Solar Solutions experience.  You will have your car back on the same day!  However, it does take approximately two days for the tint to dry completely.  Please bear in mind that time frame means two days with sun and warmth.  In colder weather, rainy weather, or overcast days, the drying time may be extended. We will apply a sticker to your window controls with the date marked indicating when you can safely roll your windows up and down again.  Until then, please leave your windows in the closed position.
