4 Reasons to Get Your Windows Tinted Before Summer

Reasons to tint your windows

As summer approaches, you probably have a list of things to get done in the next couple months – maybe freshening up the yard with new mulch or painting the trim in the house. Have you thought about getting your windows tinted?  We believe this is a worthwhile task to add to your list, and here’s why!

REASON #1: Protection for Kids and Pets

By having the windows in your car or home tinted, you are protecting your kids and/or pets from the sun’s harmful UV rays.  Sitting in the backseat, happily singing “The Wheels on the Bus,” your little one can be getting sunburned through the car window.  With Florida’s frequent high UV index, this can be dangerous. And, yes, your pets can sustain sunburns too, but they don’t have the words to tell you that their skin hurts!

While you likely don’t sit still in your home long enough to receive a sunburn through the window, your skin can still be damaged by those powerful UV rays. Sun damage can result in freckles and “age spots.” Skin damage can also lead to skin cancer which is very dangerous. Your skin is an organ, just like your heart or kidneys. You wouldn’t purposefully subject your internal organs to cancer-causing rays, so don’t do it to your skin either.

Our window tint also helps to regulate the temperature in both your car and home. In your car, this can help your pets not burn their little (or big) paws on a hot seat. And, this will also save little legs from that same pain! At home, the regulation of temperature can help reduce your home’s energy bill by up to 30 percent! Everybody wins!

REASON #2: Beat the Summer Rush

Don’t wait until July when everyone else is tired of burnt driving arms and fried legs!  Make an appointment today for a free estimate on window tinting your home and/or car. You will start saving money on your energy bill sooner, save you and your family from an unnecessarily hot car interior, and make your home more comfortable. So, beat the summer rush!

REASON #3: Protect Your Car’s Interior

Before another summer comes and goes, you should get your car’s windows tinted to protect the interior. The sun’s UV rays aren’t just harmful to humans and pets, but they are also harmful to the interior of your car.  They cause dashboards to crack and vinyl/leather seats to crack too.  Such damage makes your car look much older and worn out when it may only be a few years old! It is always best to park in a garage or carport when possible. If it is not possible, then use a sunshade on the front window. According to Florida law, your front window (aka the windshield) cannot be as darkly tinted as your other windows. So, even with our amazing window tint, we still recommend protecting the interior of your car as much as possible. These additional steps will also help to keep your car at a more comfortable temperature.

REASON #4: Protect Your Home’s Interior

Just like your car, your home’s interior needs protection too! The UV rays that we have been talking about can also damage the interior of your home. Your furnushings, flooring, walls, and artwork are all susceptible to this damage.

If you have ever noticed that your furniture faded or ever moved a couch only to find the flooring beneath it is much darker than the sun-exposed flooring, then you know what we mean. The paint on your walls will fade or discolor from exposure to the sun. And, your artwork can be similarly affected.

Solar Solutions can help protect your family, your pets, your car, and your home!

That sounds like an insurance commercial, doesn’t it? While our window tint isn’t insurance, it can definitely provide some assurance – assurance that you are doing the right thing to help protect your family and pets from skin damage, assurance that your car’s interior can last longer, and assurance that your home’s interior can have a level of protection from fading and discoloration!  Isn’t that assurance worth calling us for a free estimate? We think so! And, we look forward to serving you!
